About the Book
Sustainability and Sustainable development have become a global priority. Sustainable development is defined as â??Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needsâ?? (United Nations General Assembly, 1987, p. 43). The goal of sustainable development is to meet the needs of today, without compromising the needs of tomorrow. This means if we continuously use the current available resources, the future generations will suffer from lack of enough resources to meet their needs. Hence sustainability aims to reduce consumption of non-renewable resources, minimize waste, to create healthy, productive environments. Technology shows the proper path to achieve the goals of sustainability. Among the various technologies, biotechnology occupies a prominent place owing to its importance in the fields of healthcare, pollution prevention, food security, renewable raw materials and energy, and bioremediation of hazardous wastes. The minimization of waste and emissions and reductions in material and energy inputs are the most important environmental aims. The applications of biotechnology in addressing environmental challenges are innumerable and biotechnology principles as well offer best solutions to many unmanageable problems. Biotechnology also replaces the use of crude chemicals with natural biological resources thus decreasing the economic and environmental costs. Modern biotechnology based scientific inventions offer novel solutions and approaches to achieve a striking balance between developmental needs and environmental conservation.

The editor has a vast experience in teaching field over 12 years in various streams of Biotechnology. She is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biosciences and Biotechnology, Krishna University, Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. She completed her post graduation in Biochemistry from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. She has been awarded her doctoral degree in Biotechnology from Krishna University, Machilipatnam. She is an evergreen student with a great enthusiasm to learn new things and as a part of that she also completed another post graduation degree in Food and Nutritional Science from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur.She had around 30 national and international publications published in various peer reviewed journals. She presented her research work and review papers in 40 national and international conferences. She also attended workshops all around India. She was elected as Associate fellow, Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences (APAS) in the year 2019. She had received Best Women Scientist award from the VOICE (Voice Of Indian Concern for the Environment) and Pondicherry Institute of Agricultural Sciences (PIAS) and the Outstanding Woman in Science

She had been involved in search for innovative measures to study the anology of Engineering Chemistry for more than a decade. She has a vast experience in teaching field over 15 years in various streams of Engineering. Presently she is working as Assistant Professor in Engineering Chemistry and Acting as Asst. Principal, College of Engineering, Dr B R Ambedkar University, Etcherla, Srikakulam.
Accomplishing the strategies of Engineering chemistry, she has been awarded her Doctorate in Chemistry from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. She not only accumulating with the present sources, but also challenging to generate new sources for teaching chemistry. For that, she also achieved Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science from Andhra University.
About 45 International Journal Publications were bagged by her. Mostly she has presented her research and review papers in 60 National and International Conferences and also attended more Workshops all around India. As a part of her research perspectives, she is acting as an Editorial Board Member for Conference World and Managing Editor for IJMAER. She has been awarded with the Title of IARDO Young Scientist Award- 2018 and Life Time achievement in March 2020 for her outstanding enthusiasm and workability in the field of Multidisciplinary innovative ideology. In continuation of this, she got 5 Patents on different innovative methodologies.
She is also a keen model book designer, builder and creator. As a part of this, she had published various books on Engineering Chemistry, Applied Chemistry and Environmental Science for Engineering students.
