About the Book
Current Trends on Ethnobotany and Phytochemistry of Indigenous Plants aims to bridge the gap between scientific possibilities and ethnobotanical practices that are native to various indigenous communities. The articles in the present volume deal with the need to preserve and scientifically validate the use of various plant species in the public health sector. Even though the possibilities are immense, it is vital to carry out appropriate phytochemical analysis in order to realize the true extent of their application to cater to human health. Steps such as identification, isolation and validation of the potential medicinal plants followed by the preparation of prophylactic and therapeutic formulations are essential prerequisites for manipulating their abilities in the field of public health. Therefore, it is beyond question to say that articles of such repute and coming from a wide spectrum of research bodies will be beneficial for researchers in this field.
